Hi, I’m Leanne.
I started this blog as a way to hold myself accountable for my health and keep a journal of life in general. I love reading other people’s blogs and I love when people comment on mine. Their support is so valuable to me and I want to be equally supportive.
I have a history of weight gain and weight loss, starting with being obese as a young child – I have no childhood memories of not being obese. Over time I’ve played the losing and gaining game of the same 75 pounds 4 times. Now that I’m healthy once again, this cycle is finally going to end.
I’ve maintained a healthy weight for a while, but I’m still learning. I will always be learning.
Happily married 5 years.
More about me:
- I’m 31 years old and have been a teacher for 8 years. – High school special education in literacy.
- I have a wonderful husband and a crazy little Pomeranian named Loki.
- I am very close to my family – My mom, dad, and older sister.
- I love spending time at home and with friends and family.
- I like to read, play video games, watch TV, do word/number puzzles, and occasionally knit.
- I LOVE Zumba!
- Some of my favorite stars are Beto (Zumba creator), Chris Powell (“Extreme Weight Loss”), and especially Jillian Michaels (’nuff said).
I finally got a chance to follow your blog, my phone kept messing up and wouldn’t let me. I love it! My boyfriend and I are looking to get a Pomeranian too at the end of the month!
Thank you! And good luck on your journey. We love our little pom, he’s a little crazy but also the sweetest little lapdog.
Hi Leanne!
My name is Sue, and found your blog today thru WordPress – it captured my interest! I’m from SlimKicker (a healthy living/fitness app), and was wondering if we can do a giveaway for your blog readers?
Our site basically turns people’s health/fitness goals into a level up game with challenges such as quitting soda for a week. We’re looking for new challenge ideas, so was thinking of holding a contest where your readers leave a comment on a health challenge idea, and we’ll pick our favorite challenge idea, use it on our site, and give the winner either a free digital health scale, slow cooker, or digital heart monitor.
Let me know if you’re interested by email: sue (at) slimkicker.com
PS. You can choose not to publish this comment since it’s not really a comment =)
Best,
Sue

Hi I also nominated you for the Liebster Award, your blog is awesome!
Thank you! That means a lot to me. 🙂
I see you are a teacher also- do you find it easier or harder to stay on track during school year? going back throws me for a loop (all that stuff in the teacher’s room sheesh)
Great question. I really had to think about this one.
In a way summer is easier because I have all the time in the world, I get more sleep, and I’m more relaxed. The problem is the lack of routine and sometimes I secret eat which is way too easy to do when you’re home alone.
During the school year the routine tends to keep me on track, though. I eat a healthy breakfast and small snack as well as pack a healthy lunch. My old staff didn’t usually get spoiled too much with temptations which was helpful because, well, you know how it goes with stressful days. Now that I have a new job at a new school things could easily be more challenging. I may have some new learning experiences to deal with pretty soon! I’m leaving a high school with almost no parent involvement to an elementary school that has more than they bargained for.
